Heat butter on high heat, add sugar. Stir till foamy, add almonds. Continue to cook on high heat till it turns a mahogany color and all the sugar is melted. Pour on buttered cookie sheet,
After setting for 5 minutes, sprinkle chocolate chips over top of mixture. Let set for 2 minutes then spread melted chips over candy with spatula. Sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped almonds on top of candy.
Cool completely. Break or cut into pieces.
Makes one 9 x 13 cookie sheet of candy.
