2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
½ cup shortening
4 tbsp cocoa
1 cup water
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp baking soda
½ cup buttermilk
Frosting
4 tbsp cocoa
7 tbsp milk
1 stick butter or margarine
1 tbsp vanilla
1 box powdered sugar (1 lb)
1 tsp vanilla

Combine flour and sugar.

Bring to boil, butter or margarine, shortening, cocoa and water.

Add eggs, baking soda and buttermilk. Mix. Add flour/sugar mixture.

Pour into a greased 13 x 9 sheet pan and bake for 20 min at 400°F.

Make Frosting by bringing to a boil the first 4 ingredients. Add in powdered sugar and vanilla. Pour over cake while still warm.

Note: Serve with vanilla ice cream.
